The Lord Is My Shepherd Ministries (TLIMS)
The Lord Is My Shepherd Ministries (TLIMS) is a church founded in the heart of Woolwich in the year 2000. For over two decades, the church has built its identity around its core values of love, truth, and unity. At the center of church life is the preaching and teaching of the Bible, alongside a strong sense of fellowship, welcoming everyone who believes as one family of God.
Brief & design process:
Despite being established for more than 20 years, TLIMS had never developed a visual identity or logo. With a new leadership team in place, the church saw an opportunity to address this gap and create a brand identity that truly reflects who they are.
The leadership approached me to design a logo that embodies their values, love, truth, and unity, while also reflecting the “shepherd” aspect of their name. The aim was to create a visual identity that communicates family, care, and belonging, serving as a unifying symbol for the church community.

After reading and digesting the brief, I began by researching the role of a shepherd, particularly in the biblical sense. What stood out to me was the shepherd’s responsibility to tend, care for, and protect the sheep entrusted to them. In Scripture, the shepherd often symbolises Jesus/God, while the sheep represent believers. An important element of this imagery is the shepherd’s staff, a tool used to guide and protect. From early on, I knew I wanted to incorporate both the staff and the sheep into the design to capture this sense of care and protection.
The final design brings these elements together in a subtle but meaningful way. The logo not only integrates the staff and the sheep, but it also forms a shape that resembles a sheep being gently held, cupped within a caring hand. This dual representation reinforces the church’s values of love, truth, and unity while also reflecting the heart of their name, The Lord Is My Shepherd.
The client loved the concept, describing it as a strong visual expression of their message and mission. The logo successfully communicates family, care, and protection, becoming a unifying symbol for the TLIMS community.
